Since the conservative movement has allowed people participating in services through zoom to count for a minyan while the pandemic is going on, I have a hypothetical question about food. If I'm zooming in on a shabbat dinner and the hosts are having a meat meal but I'm having a dairy meal, is that a problem? Or does the digital distance make that ok, since they're not physically at the same table. FOR any liberal movement that allows digital attendance at a minyan!
Mod here. This is such a fun question, and for clarity’s sake, let’s also work with a FOR of “individuals shouldn’t eat a meal with dairy + meat" and allow answers applying to a shared weekday meal so that respondents who don’t Zoom on Shabbat/Yom Tov (including many Conservative Jews, which anon seems to be including as liberal) have the opportunity to jump in. Sorry to hijack this post! For those new to the blog, this is not typically how I mod. Per usual, respondents may also want to include their more detailed FORs and/or reasoning.
