Sonic fic idea:

After Sonic uses the fake emerald to Chaos Control the first time in SA2, he's sick and clearly hiding it, him being too focused to save the world, the events go as normal with Sonic feeling a bit wiped out every now and then.

Imagine if going Super made his sickness worse. Imagine him beating final hazard, watching Shadow fall to his death, and only then does he pass out on the way home, him being so sick that it's a wonder how he was able to keep going for so long.

Imagine Sonic having fever dreams that just constantly have him reliving Shadow's death, and when he's awake is the only form of reprieve he can get but he so feverish that he's sleeping again before he can even remember what's going on.

The more I look at videos of gameplay for the fight against King Arthur in Sonic and the Black Knight, the more I realize that the fight in Avalon should probably be the one I go with for the fic I wanna write.
