Captains Log No.6_ SL Burn2 “Emergence”
So if you have ever heard of Burning Man and thought “I wannaa go but its so far/I cant afford it/ I hate the sand!” you can still get that similar experience and check out Burn2 in SL as your primer! This month their theme was all about emerging, which I feel heavily. I was greeted by one of the volunteers and she gave me a bunch of gifts and information about the events, such a breath of fresh air to encounter nice cheerful and helpful people.
My new friend! She also built a very cool digital lotus exhibit with digital art posted all around it! A dope concept!
I do feel throughout all these dark and uncertain times there have been moments where my hope and faith in humanity have been restored. Little things like my elderly neighbor checking up on me, community weekly food handouts being implemented in my hood we even have local fridges and people that keep them going, there have been people stepping up to help in little ways and that brings me hope. Restrictions breed creativity.
What I love about Burning Man is the culture behind it, when it first began it was very much about community, sharing, and coexisting harmoniously with your environment. You are encouraged to bring gifts to share and to leave nothing behind (no trash!) everything is burned at the end of the event. I have never been to RL burning man myself but I have many friends who have been. I am a Burn2 veteran however! Thinking about making a build for the next one, loved that Anglerfish partycar ( i think thats what you call it!) you can jump on it and dance while it travels around the sim!
If you check out their website you will find they have so many resources for creators who want to make a build, volunteer, or perform. There is even a pandemic toolkit on the site which I think is beautiful and another amazing thing about SL! I would love to see more diversity and builds at the next one so I hope this post will inspire some of my black and brown SL creators to join the fun!

Building a Strong Virtual Company Culture
In today’s remote-first world, culture is no longer built in break rooms or over coffee chats—it’s intentional, digital, and crucial. At CorporateOne, we believe that a strong virtual company culture starts with trust, connection, and consistent engagement.
🌐 Here’s how we nurture our virtual culture:
✅ Intentional Onboarding – New hires are welcomed with virtual tours, team intros, and check-ins. ✅ Transparent Communication – We use daily huddles, open Slack channels, and async updates to stay aligned. ✅ Virtual Team Bonding – Monthly game nights, shout-outs, and virtual coffee breaks keep us human. ✅ Mental Wellness First – Encouraging breaks, flexibility, and mental health days is part of our norm. ✅ Clear Purpose – When everyone knows the “why,” the “how” becomes a team effort.
A strong remote culture isn’t accidental—it’s built with care.

Viewer Comments
Just some nice comments I got on my final post that were very appreciated.
Documenting the final outcome and post of my project. I got some nice comments on my insta that showed people were engaged and overall I feel I made a good connection with my audience and got a lot more interest in my work as an artist. I will likely continue this kind of project on my instagram into the future as I really valued the interaction it gave me with my audience.
FINAL OUTCOME PROCESS POST 2
Once I had printed out my final five cards, I wanted to showcase them in a way that would draw attention so I decided to take a self portrait photo of me with them. For this I ordered some props that would add to the photo and created some jewellery out of this to match the aesthetic I was going for.
These are the props I made from the above beads. I also braided them into my hair for the self portrait. I feel this gave the end result a cohesive feel.
