「 ☠ 」 ah, Shibuya. what a lively place. it was no Ikebukuro, by any means, but there was something about this place. something strange and thrilling. and, much like himself, Izaya was curious. what secrets could this lovely little city hold? perhaps it was time to find out.

Sometimes it was just too much. Sometimes he needed a break. Shibuya was back, it was healthy, and it was safe. It wasn’t a Game month, so it would be fine. He could leave for a few days and his city wouldn’t suffer the consequences.
Joshua sat alone in his apartment, watching the cityscape. He stood up, sparing a small glance at his computer. His Conductor would be fine with a bit of alone time. He was moody enough that some time to himself would do him good.
Joshua took a long breath and concentrated. Somewhere else...somewhere else... Somewhere interesting.
Picking out an alternate universe to visit was simple enough. It was the getting there that was rough. Joshua exhaled and vanished from sight.

The story of Hachiko was the one story that made Aoko cry by pure mention. It was also the one story that Aoko related to a lot.
A loyal dog waiting for their owner to return, even when the man has disappeared forever. Patiently waiting for the day they see those familiar eyes, or a call of their name. Everyone else looking after the puppy in the owner’s wake, until Hachiko finally joined their owner in the afterlife.
... Now, Aoko was no dog (despite being called one a thousand times) nor had someone close to her in recent days died. Though she related to the idea of consistently waiting, as she did now-- A father that chased someone else every day and almost never returned home, and a best friend who had a thousand sudden ‘errands’ that she only ever really saw him at school or at dinner.
Fingers tapped meticulously at her cliche tourist’s camera, a few shots in good lighting taken of the memorial. She had planned to keep these in a photo album, seeing as she was sightseeing while her father followed KID to his next location. The only thing that caught her slightly off-guard though, was the person who stood next to her so calmly.
While seeing single people waiting for others was common near Hachiko, Aoko noticed how he seemed to look up at the statue in the same way. Or perhaps he didn’t, and Aoko was simply hoping for someone to talk to so she wouldn’t be so alone. It couldn’t hurt, right?
❝ Ne, would you wait for someone forever like Hachiko? Or would you leave if they were far too late? ❞
She tilts her head when she looks his way, smiling in a friendly manner.

lock them in a room together until they counsel each other or fightfuck it out. honestly, i see their potential in many different situations. separate timelines crossing over, chaos erupting, and two of them joining forces etc… except they then realize that the two of them could do a lot more. they could have gotten on well in the tin pin world, too, just fucking off, and maybe through spending time together they come to understand each other by being on the outside looking in on themselves, ya know? talking to yourself and actually getting a response. they, knowing themselves, can call each other right out and know exactly what to do to pick, prod, play with, encourage and otherwise provoke each other. and i dunno, my joshua honestly thinks he deserves no one but himself because who the hell else would put up with him? it’s complicated, and i like that about the possibility of two versions getting involved. it’d be an impressive and terrifying love/hate relationship.

When Joshua can’t answer a question–because of either not knowing the answer or being unable to answer for various reasons–he defaults to vague non-answers and coy wording. He’s also quite the fan of answering with a question of his own instead.

Joshua is able to dance moderately well if he knows the steps. He’s not the most graceful. The only time he really tends to dance is during the Bon Odori Festival. He’s well-versed in the Tokyo Ondo, the Dai Tokyo Ondo, and the Tankou Bushi. Any sort of slow dance is more his forte.
