Amelia was running to catch her bus. She hated it when her car was in the shop and she had to rely on the bus. Sometimes they just drove off without caring, she would put money on it. She was so intent on the bus that she did not notice the kid with the skateboard until she was practically on top of him, tripping over herself to avoid stepping on the kid or thwacking him with a leg on accident. She didn't notice the people around her, either.

So when she crashed at Steve’s apartment after a day of hunting Hydra agents, blood dripping from her wounds and eyes puffy from crying (she tried to stay at her own place, she truly did, but nightmares flashed before her eyes all the time she was alone), Nat was not expecting to be left in—after all, she was not the loveliest company lately. But she needed to hear a familiar voice, nevertheless.
