I couldn't take it anymore, I had to draw somehow. So i drew in an empty sketchbook I bought a while back. I haven't drawn on paper in a few years so I'm really rusty...

Here is some Virus Hunter concepts. First one is a south american girl who's ability is to paint barriers in the air with her hands and feet, second is an eastern european kid who's an atypical knight kind of character complete with big buckler and (not shown) a big jousting lance

Third is Solaria showcasing an ability to summon electric familiars, an ability I want to call "Circuit Circus" which I swear was the name of an arcade I knew back when I was young

There's a lot to be said about sketching with a pen, it gives you the philosophy that you must learn to live with your mistakes, and you may even learn to like them

The original strain of H5N1, explains Wolfe, jumped directly from birds to humans. Other viruses, meanwhile, make the leap to domestic animals before infecting humans; that mixing can then introduce deadlier strains of unknown viruses into the world. "So what happens is you have a particular pig out there and it could get infected with two different viruses — maybe one that's been in human and one that's been in the original reservoir of a bird — and they can mix and match their genes and create mosaic daughter viruses that will have completely novel properties," he says.
