A flying visit to Bristol
So, we've already established that I go where the music takes me, so after London, it was Bristol's turn. A city we visited as part of our holiday in July, and I wasn't sold on it... This weekend I realised we'd gone to the wrong parts! First of all; I love a harbour, so getting to the harbour was a good start.
We turned up in the afternoon, went to The Louisiana, a new favourite music venue, had a few drinks with some of my partner's family, and then headed out to the food containers at Wapping Ward nearby to get ourselves some dinner. We went for a halloumi wrap at The Athenian and were both big fans, delicious wrap for a decent price and very well-filled with halloumi and flavourful salad. After that we enjoyed Public Order, had another drink, and then headed to bed.
The next morning we both woke up starving, had a coffee at the Society Cafe, and in a coincidental turn of events we ended up at Mud Dock Café where they served us the best breakfast we've had in a while including a bubbly & squeak croquette and a fantastic homemade hash brown - yes, that needs a separate mention! After that we nipped into Arnolfini Arts Gallery, and had dinner at the Lounge, a delicious tomato orzo pasta filled me to the brim while Jay went for his favourite; the mezze salad bowl.
Once refuelled, we headed back to The Louisiana for the absolutely captivating live music of March and my dear friend Marie Naffah. She will forever leave me in awe of her musical talents, and she played all of my favourite songs; 'Wasteland', 'Rusy & Blue', 'Mother Of Pearl', and 'Loving You (Tenderly)' to name a few! She might've played a good hour, but it still wasn't enough for me, I could never get enough of Marie!
