Beat the heat or get out of the rain
Weather is unpredictable.
This statement is undeniably true - especially in Saskatchewan where it is not uncommon to experience all four seasons in the span of 24 hours.
So while we’d all love to relish in the outdoors during the summer, sometimes it’s just too much to take. It might rain for days. Or we might catch a heat wave with record setting temperatures. In any case, it’s always wise to have a backup plan for when the outdoors throw us a curve ball (or two or three).
Here are some ideas for indoor activities:
Go for a round of 3D glow-in-the-dark mini golf. Practice your putting skills at Mar’s Minigolf 18-hole pirate aquarium themed course.
Go to the museum. Saskatoon is home to many museums including the Western Development Museum, Ukrainian Museum of Canada, the Diefenbaker Canada Centre, and the Children’s Discovery Museum on the Saskatchewan.
Go to an art gallery. You don’t have to be an art enthusiast to enjoy an art gallery, especially in Saskatoon. The Mendel, for example, features different exhibits throughout the year, and houses a conservatory.
Go to the mall. Saskatoon has a variety of indoor shopping malls for you to choose from: Midtown Plaza, The Centre Mall, The Mall at Lawson Heights, Confederation Mall, Market Mall and Scotia Centre. Check out the stores at shopping districts like Broadway, Preston Crossing or Stonebridge.
Go to the movies. Galaxy, Centre Cinemas, Rainbow Cinemas, The Roxy Theatre, or Broadway Theatre - take your pick! If it’s the latest Hollywood blockbusters you’re looking for, go to Galaxy or Centre Cinemas. If you missed last season’s breakout hit, you can probably still catch it at Rainbow or the Roxy. If you’re into alternative or independent film, you’ll likely find what you’re looking for at the Roxy or Broadway Theatre.
