Holiday Spirit: November/December Events in Saskatoon
Saskatoon is a fun and vibrant city during the holidays. Here's some ideas for activities/events for the end of 2014.
Festival of Trees, Nov. 23-29 - The Festival of Trees kicks off the Christmas Season in Saskatoon. Over 70 decorated trees, displays along with a gingerbread house display, entertainment and special events make this a popular family outing. Funds raised support projects through Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation.
Enchanted Forest, Nov. 22-Jan.11 - This Holiday Season marks the 16th anniversary of this spectacular Saskatchewan Family Christmas Tradition. Attracting ~60,000 visitors annually, 40% of which are tourists, make it Saskatchewan's top winter tourist attraction. A perfect place to take visiting friends and family over the holidays.
It's a Wonderful Life, Nov. 26-Dec. 21 - It’s a Wonderful Life, one of the most beloved and enduring films of all time, comes to life on the stage! George Bailey is facing financial adversity and in his moment of greatest despair, is saved by a guardian angel named Clarence Oddbody. This heart warming story of faith, hope and family reminds us that life truly is wonderful. A new musical adaptation by Peter Jorgensen at the Persephone Theatre.
Sundog Arts & Entertainment Faire, Dec 5-7 - Saskatchewan's premier festival of handcrafts features 200 of Canada's finest artisan and specialty food producers! Ethnic food court/entertainment stage, children's demonstration and information areas! Sundog has something for everyone!
Where the Wild Things Are, Dec 6-7,13-14 - An interactive adventure for every generation. The incorrigible Max, sent to bed without his supper, embarks on imaginary travels to a land of wild animals and extraordinary adventures – where he is ultimately crowned ruler. A delightful show in which audiences become The Wild Things. Presented at The Refinery, by the Persephone Theatre.
New Years Eve at Prairieland Park, Dec. 31 - Celebrate the New Year with friends at Prairieland Park. Live bands and DJ's entertain you and bring in the New Year in style!
