We came across a local woman working in the jungle right next to the Rapti river. She was standing only a few metres away cutting grass and twigs to take home with her to feed the animals. Its a hard life in rural Nepal because most people have to rely on livestock just to survive. And with small holdings there is only so much feed on them so you have to venture out into the jungle.

Saw these women crossing the river to go into the park to cut grass for their animals. Its a dangerous place to go because you dont know what is hiding in the grasslands. From poisonous snakes to rhinos & tigers it could be just a few metres from the rivers bank. Its amazing what you do for some cut grass to feed the animals back home.
