Glass Beach is a pretty famous beach in Mendocino County in Fort Bragg. The beach is filled with rocks, sand, and sea glass. Sadly the amount of sea glass on the beach has drastically dwindled in the past two decades from visitors taking the glass. And while the glass is not naturally occurring and is the result of the glass being dumped in the ocean, it is still sad to see this famous beach without much of what makes it famous. Besides from the glass, or lack of glass, the coastline is incredibly beautiful here. Rocky cliffs matched with crashing waves and fog. I loved walking along the shore in the early morning when it was still quiet. Mendocino County has some of the most beautiful beaches and I can’t wait to visit again.

This and the lighthouse are probably two of my favorite 2020 shots so far. The colors here were exciting to see come out as strongly as they did, but I think most importantly leaning and climbing down the edge to get these shots was not my best idea, but absolutely not my worst either. I think this is the last of the doom and gloom shots for awhile. I have some Tahoe pictures and a bunch of pictures I sidelined with totally different vibes. I've spent the last two weeks in a blur of anxiety and burying myself in work. Potential layoffs for the district that I work in, combined with most of San Francisco shutting down over the last few days. Really takes its toll on your stress levels and mental health. Anyway. I had a hankering for Pinot Noir and my app told me I had a 2013 still in cellar and it seemed like a good idea to rescue it. I worried that i may have left it too long but this 2013 Goldeneye Ten Degrees Pinot Noir was perfect. Made from Mendocino grapes. 16 months in 100% new French oak. Classic red fruit flavors, great structure and body, nice oak notes but not overdone.
