Oh Look Another Palegun AU

No I'm Not A Human swap(?) AU that randomly got me drawing between commissions, uni assignments and a Lawlight thingy last night, inspired by this post specifically and a conglomerate of other fanarts of Visitor!Protag and Human!Intruder. Lore beneath the cut🙏🏻

Perhaps magnified by the current time of year, I'm loving the idea of the cataclysm that forces people to bunch up in their homes with suspicious strangers being a sudden ice age rather than intense sun winds. Y'all already know I love myself a cozy and domestic get-away in the middle of nowhere that can also get kinda twisted and survivalist, so yeah. I got weak, alright?

I imagine Human!Intruder as a thoroughly avarage feeling, however quite intelligent guy who doesn't smile much unless he is in good company. He's socially awkward in mainstream society and easily flustered by sinister men lurking around his house, being in a similar situation to canon!Protag where he has no scruple about expressing himself overall but simply has no reason to most of the time so he comes across as sorta quiet, perhaps even creepy in the eyes of some who seek to judge. To make Visitor!Hermit and Human!Paleman representative of their canon dynamic (respectively guy who has repressed desires rotting inside him and guy who indulgently grants himself his every fucked up whim) I tried to externalize/veil those parts of them to match their canon counterparts. While I wouldn't want to give supervisitor!Hermit a gun, since visitors kill with their hands it seems, I thought it might be fitting to make him use his unassumed superhuman strength to push his hands into people and kill them that way, starting with his fingers, the puncture wounds vaguely resembling bullet holes. It's the same reason I didn't give him leather gloves, even though they probably would've added to the black-out look and frosty setting, but perhaps it's more frightening to see the blood under his nails, if they're ever visible at all, that the snow can never quite wash off and he doesn't care to pick out. Also his hat is covering a cavity in his skull. It's probably why his hat stays on even in the harshest of winds (supernatural forces sucking it to his head)

In this AU Paleman is trapped in his small, single room lodge with Human!Cat Lady (I love the idea that they're siblings, it's literally so iconic), Seductive Woman (his neighbor and best friend, as envisioned by aforementioned user sir @davebowman4ever. Very cunty. Gay man and his girl bestie never misses), as well as Human!Coat Guy and Human!Babushka who came wandering in seeking shelter. I think this mix would make for a chill dynamic in a story. I just do not have the time to illustrate all of it.

Anyway, In this au, both Protag and the intruder win the lottery and become visitors with each other after apocalypse begun.

Before that, the two of them had known each other before and both try to reconnected with their old relationship (they were just old school friends) and intruder just happened to talking with Protag at Protag's house at the same time the neighbor came over to tell the news, making him agree to stay with Protag.

Of course leads to two these mfs visitors that having communication problems living together.

They might kiss each other or kill each other idk.
