Walt Whitman Birthplace State Historic Site and Interpretive Center. Poetic events, poetry, walt whitman poetry books, poetry cd's and dvd's, walt whitman memorabilia and an assortment of other american poetry from various american poets.

WALT WHITMAN BIRTHPLACE STATE HISTORIC SITE AND INTERPRETATIVE CENTER: Walt Whitman Birthplace Association (WWBA) was organized in 1949 to purchase the deteriorating Whitman Birthplace from private sellers to safeguard it for future generations. WWBA fulfills the responsibilities of NY State by preserving the historic site, for sustaining the legacy of Walt Whitman, for presenting literary and artistic programs, for conducting educational programs, and for providing visitor tours. The association (WWBA) published their first poetry collection titled “A Taste of Poetry.” The book consists of poems about food. Every poem is paired with a personal recipe from each of the 64 poets represented in the book. (I am one the poets. ~ R.S.R.~)
