Evaluation: Off the Beaten Track
Personally, I think that we worked well together as a group. We are all confident in our decisions therefore offered great constructive criticism to each other in order to find an outcome in which we were all happy with. We consistently communicated between each other even if we were not physically together due to a group conversation we created to discuss work. I think that we capitalised on each other’s skills to build on our individual weaknesses.
As we took this project and created it with a company we have feedback on how we tackled the project as a team from the Gallery Manager too:
“Thank you so much for choosing us to represent your project brief! I was thoroughly impressed with your approach and execution of the task.
You dealt with the planning aspect with thoughtful consideration to our opinions as a company, liaised well and efficiently to ensure that the project could be completed within your timescale and with little disruption to our business.
As a team, you worked well together, choosing tasks that you could excel at whilst directing and assisting others. We were thrilled with the outcome, a great combination of texture, lighting, mood and the edgy feel of the gallery shown both in the zine and video.
Our Co-Founders expressed they were very happy with the outcome and would love to have the opportunity to show your work (with credit to you) at some time. Thank you for going the extra mile, delivering the zine for our approval whilst battling through the snow and producing the work on time for us to look at.
We wish you all the very best in your future work, we’re certain that you will excel and would love you to keep in touch to let us know how everything progresses.
Kind regards
Vanessa Watkins
Gallery Manager”
My contribution to this project was through both the zine and the video. I think that the balance of the work load between the group could’ve been worked on, However, what I worked on consisted of - Myself and Caitlin drafted and edited the Zine spreads together successfully. I bound the Zine/Gallery book myself as in my last project I did not do this too well and I wanted to take the opportunity to practice and improve my making skills. The Idea generation, cinematography & Photography was evenly split throughout the group. As well as we chose the location together.
Finally, I think that in total we managed to achieve what we set out to do for this project. We wanted to create an “edgy, urban” vibe to the visuals we present. We wanted to highlight the colours and textures which the new-age art has which makes the entire place unique.
