Sopot. Poland. Picture this house right after the war. The pain is fresh and the roof tiles are still intact. Everyone is working to get past the devastation. The garden has been weeded and there is a vegetable patch just to the right. Where the current fence stands there was once a low wall, just wide enough for a kid to run across it. In fact, the wall wraps around the entire neighbourhood and if you are really careful or very daring, you can hit up everyone's fruit trees without your feet ever touching the ground. Do you hear them? Shhh.... Listen. There, off in the distance the hysterical laughter of young boys who have been stealing their neighbour's apples. As they scamper off to enjoy their haul, she comes running out shaking her fist but with a smile playing on her worn face. Of course the boys didn't have permission but food is hard to come by and this is a close knit community and besides, she knows that their mother will likely come by with a hazelnut cake made from the trees in her yard. . . . . . . . #styleontheside #visualwritingprompt #visualjournal #storytellingphotography #visualstorytelling #visualwriter #storiesmatter #storyoftheday #storiesuntold #storiestotell #writingislife #writethevision #write_on #writersblock #writingprompts #writingmybook #writers_den_ #loves_sopot #liveforthestory #letsguide #googlelocalguide #writinginspiration #writerlife #canadianwriter #canadianblogger #torontowriter #torontoblogger #writtenword (at Sopot, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqpNtlRHzmX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=19yp5bip0f1nw
