Oleg Borisovich Portnov | Character Study (the vita nostra series)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ↳ “ But now, it was clear that whoever was sitting in front of Sasha was not human. Moreover, it had never been human. For the first time in her life Sasha saw—recognized, understood—what exactly an “embodied function” was. ( ... ) A glossary? An activator? A textbook? A textbook that was given a human name?

About halfway through & I can't put this book down! Well, except to take photos of it. A strange, engrossing story about a very unusual college. Might stay up late to finish this one. * #funaekreads #funaekbooks #instabooks #instareads #vitanostra #pugsandbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/BtaNaG0HaQy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1l0zasyrquhka
Alexandra “Sasha” Samokhina | Character Study (the vita nostra series)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ↳ “ Sasha realized with all her core being something that many understood before her: The creature did not care that Sasha was loved by someone. And that she loved someone herself. And that she had had a childhood, and she had splashed on the seashore; and that she had an old knit sweater with a reindeer embroidered on the front. There were plenty of people loved by someone, the ones who carried a seashell, a button, or a black-and-white photograph in their pockets. But no one had ever been saved by memories, no one had been protected by words and pledges, and those loved greatly by others died too. ”

Farit Kozhennikov | Character Study (the vita nostra series)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ↳ “ It is impossible to live in the world where I do not exist,” he said after a short pause. “Although it’s hard to resign oneself to my existence, I understand that. ”

Dima Dimych | Character Study (the vita nostra series)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ↳ “ Dima Dimych—because how else but informally, like a good buddy, could one address him?—resembled a powerful but naïve tiger cub, and the thought that their schedule included four gym classes a week now made them deliriously happy. ”

Alexandra “Sasha” Samokhina | Character Study (the vita nostra series)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ↳ “ All girls are mad. Each in her own way. Listen, I think I am omnipotent. I broke out of our text and can view it from the outside. And I can see—it’s just letters. Every person is a word, simply a word. And others are punctuation marks. ”

#roman #sfff #vitanostra #latalante #passionlecture #serialreader #livreaddict #lectureaddict #bookstagram #bookstagrammer (à Torpa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWK9GIVMb9r/?utm_medium=tumblr
