This actually made me wonder if Robin and Jacob Markstrom must know each other? As far as I can tell they’ve never played on the same team in competition at any point (internationally or otherwise), but I can’t imagine the social circles of two guys in a niche category like “Swedish NHL-level goalies born in 90-91” haven’t overlapped significantly somewhere. Perhaps he knows Thatcher personally as “Jake’s protégé” (or just through the ever-formidable NHL “goalies union” lol).

My grandma came into give me my medication this morning, right? I was scrolling Tumblr on my phone when she walked into my bedroom. I put down my phone and it just happened to be displaying a gif set of Cole scoring his goal. She noticed and asked me if it was the Canadiens. When I explained to her that the kid in them scored his first NHL goal last night, she smiled and went: "That's awesome! It doesn't matter what team they play for, they deserve to get a goal."
