Dev Diary #29

Voice in the Machine is finished! o((>ω< ))o

I am officially --at least publicly-- on dev hiatus!

With Voice in the Machine out, this will be the last public project I'll be doing for a while. At the same time I was working on a horror IF anthology for Single Choice Jam, which I had to back out from in the end, the whole censorship debacle (keep doing those calls!) made the development sour on top of me wondering how was I supposed to label content warnings with varying degrees for a horror anthology to abide by the requirements for the new guidelines yet to be released (still waiting out on that one btw).

With the onslaught of censorship news around the globe being online isn't as much fun as it used to be. There's this interesting pivot of going offline, at least as best as someone can in this day and age. Or maybe that was the goal all along? I do admit this 180 shift is scary af.

Anyways, Act Two of Nocturnal Affair+ is set to release on September 6th as planned, however until then all works will all be on sleep mode. Meaning, I will be offline on the social side of things except here and on ko-fi where I will blab on worldbuilding et al. no one will care about (as if I haven't been doing it for ages ha).

I'll still be sharing projects through ko-fi tiers. I have ongoing wips yet to be shared to the wild. Did you know you can finally play the Mystery Path in OTAD over there plus prototypes of unreleased VN wips? Subscribing would help a lot to finance the background music for the gothic horror revamp of Before The Tale (the likelihood of it being rescheduled for next year is at 100%).

You could say my creative high has reached its zenith. Now it's all freefalling from here until the end of 2025.

To be perfectly honest, there aren't many sparks of joy I can find as of late. Also, yes, laptop battery may also have had a hand in this bout of melancholia.
