Extra one for Vitra cause she's my favorite and i forgot to put it on the other ask
38. What is a very sentimental item your OC has?
:D
She was gifted a beautiful glass flute dyed green, by her parents, for I'd say her fifth birthday - before her nose was bent or her adult teeth grew in snagged at the front. It came in an ornate mahogany box, packaged alongside a piece of parchment that read "for our beautiful daughter, Vitra" in her mother's flowy handwriting. She took it with her when she left. She keeps it open on her side of divisa III's lounge, and takes it out to play it only very rarely. The boys, unable to read, have asked her what the note says, and she tells them it's some boring information about where the glass was produced. But even in their limited knowledge of Ulora script, they swear it looks like her name written at the bottom. They don't press.
MY OCS - BRIEF INTRO
there is a city sized university called Gresse on the island nation of Yixa. Gresse is a university committed solely to the study of magic and magi, and they own a gigantic fleet of quite possibly hundreds of thousands of ships that go out to almost every country in the world - countries under the Gresse Concordisse - to pick magi up and take them back to Gresse. No one except the highest higher ups in Gresse themselves know exactly why this is considered necessary. Within the terms of the Gresse Concordisse it is plainly stated that any realised magi withholding themselves from the ships and refusing passage to Gresse is committing a crime against Yixa, as is anyone knowingly harbouring them.
Saal is (secretly. Secretly , secretly) a magi ; a Pathetic one, but one nonetheless. He also just so happens to live in what would likely be classed as the 3rd most anti-magic nation in the world, Ulor. (he has some serious self image issues.)
Ulor is a country that is almost entirely run by various underground thieves guilds that have existed as long as the country itself. They are deeply entrenched in the culture of Ulor. There is no Ulor without the guilds. Despite the lowlives that make up their ranks - known as scaru - and their propensity for drinks, drugs, gambling, whores, fights and cursing, the guilds are perfectly organised and calculated, and spare no sympathy for anyone in the way.
Saal Fera is a scaru belonging to the guild 'Fratera', the guild in charge of the southernmost territories of Ulor. He's pretty much the exact opposite of organised and calculated, and very much in the way. Him being magi and therefore technically a fugitive was enough to make him a massive liability as is - without the extra mess of him then going and accidentally getting a valuable and talented guild brother, a man named Omalivilian, killed on the job. His standing with the guild master Amaria dropping from unfavourable to straight up resentful, Saal is now at risk of being dropped by the guild; even worse, Amaria has threatened to save everyone the trouble and report him to the ships to have him taken away to Gresse if he doesn't seriously make up for what he's done.
The guild is split into groups called divisas, and Divisa three is made up by Saal and his two best friends: Vitra and Divus.
And then there's Livilial, who's a member of guild Fratera who joined after escaping from her home country to Ulor, who has now made it her life's goal to make Saal as miserable as humanly possible even if that means getting him kicked out the guild for good; Omalivilian was her beloved younger brother. However, Livilial and Saal already have a complicated past, meaning her feelings about him are a lot more conflicted that she'd like to admit.
There is plenty of more in depth lore about all of them that I have posted about , but that's the shortest overview I can give I reckon !! now I will put all of the tags
another possible future
Does Momeiia ever find out about Vitra's death?
OOOOOO That's such a good question . I wanna say probably not ? Divus and Saal probably wouldn't think of her and either way they wouldn't want to give the rest of the Athins the glory and satisfaction of learning that information .
Momeiia would certainly notice that she'd stopped receiving letters and occasional stealthy visits from Vitra , and she'd be concerned , but in her naivete she might just assume vitras busy or has decided she doesn't want anything to do with her or that she's just in jail again .
Vitra <33
2. What would your OC name a cat if they had to?
7. What overdone joke does/would your OC repeat constantly?
16. Does your OC prefer sweet or savoury food?
28. What is a song your OC likes to sing?
2. I think she would either instinctively choose a really fancy , upper class name like Augusta or something , or just a straight up insult like dronii which is the Ulora word for whore . Depends on how much she likes the thing lmfao
7. That is the best question for Vitra LMAO you knew you knew . Vitra would absolutely LOVE your mom jokes. Shed throw them out absolutely non stop. If the "I hardly know her" joke worked in her language she'd love them too.. 😞 same with the "is there a mister ___?" joke . whatever the Ulora equivalents are she loves them . She also takes every and I mean EVERY opportunity to call Saal gay . One of her biggest hobbies . "A dude beat you up? Yeah you would like getting beat on by a dude🏳️🌈. This has been a long and hard day ? Bet every day would be Long and Hard if it was up to you 🏳️🌈. That job was a pain in the ass ? Surprised you aren't used to that by now 🏳️🌈." You get the idea
16. Sweet . Sweet all the way . Growing up in a rich house , she was very used to expensive sugary foods near her all the time and they were one of her main comforts . They're harder to come by now , but she does everything she can to get her hands on any sweet treat in the world. They all have things they steal on the side while on a bigger heist job , and Vitra's main one is sugary treats . She's always lookin out for em .
28. She sings loads of different songs because she learned many , however there is one I wrote aaaages ago to get a little feel for sentences in Ulora which I've since always imagined as the main go to song that Vitra sings
It's basically just a quaint, quiet, soft little song about loving life in Ulor. It's patriotic but not in a bombastic way - instead more understated . Oh and that last line translates to I'll die at Home In Ulor :)
Thank you so much for the ask !!!!!!
What was Omal’s relationship with Vitra and Divus like ? We know a lot about Saal and Omal since it’s the inciting incident for Livilial to really start hating him , but what did Vitra and Divus think of him ?
Thank you for the ask ! This came out of nowhere what a nice surprise :D (I've actually been thinking about this a lot recently as I think it will be relevant to the beginning of the story)
Divus and Vitra both never really GOT Omal . He was a bit too plain speaking and literal for either of them . While the rest of divisa III was firmly at "best friends" status with one another , Omal was pretty much stuck at "colleague" with all of them
Vitra made fun of him a lot in the same ways she makes fun of everyone else she likes or spends time around, but Omal never really took it super well or laughed along - which made her think he was boring and/or stuck up . With Vitra being unable to take things earnestly and Omal being the definition of earnest they were like oil and water really .
Divus just couldn't really find that much common ground with him either . Despite being a thief , Omalivilian held onto his morals tightly (after all he only ever became a thief because livilial forced him into it, he never wanted to be one) which always made Divus feel judged by him . Omal wouldn't gamble , would get mad if Divus played a game with him and cheated , and his Brinik sensibilities didn't much sympathise with sleeping around , either . So Divus always felt Omal thought he was better than him . And Divus, being super sensitive to what people think of him , very much let that affect the way he treated and talked to the guy.
From Omals perspective, he always got the impression none of divisa III really liked him that much . He understood his place though - these three had been together since childhood and him and his sister had been the ones to butt in . It only made sense that they'd be outsiders. It was just extremely unfortunate that Livilial had then moved to a different divisa , leaving him alone as the odd one out .
(Not that Omalivilian was OVERLY invested in being best buds with who he saw as the mean weirdo and the main character syndrome playboy , but. It gets lonely .)
