Creativity comes and goes like the warmth of summer succeeding to a cold and harsh winter. The sun always rises however, and it always finds itself coming back. Whenever I’m in a rut I more or less am passively creative. I don’t create art but rather consume it, I look at artists and dissect what they do or I listen to stories and think about how they work as a fulfilling and powerful stories. And then, whenever my drive returns, I find I’ve improved. I hope that helps.
I’m actually so burned out that I need to mentally switch off analysis and dissection for myself! But I think the passive creativity is good to remember, because resting is important to the process too. Thank you for the kind words too Florence!!
