Hey, do you have any tips on learning a new language? Im trying to learn german but Im a bit disorganized (”¬‿¬)
Oh man i'm not really good at this kind of advice since i stopped learning spanish half way and only know like a word wtf but yeah i'll try to give some advices!1. Familiarize yourself with the language. Listen to people talking in that language. Maybe watch a movie or listen to songs in that language, or just watch youtube language tutorial videos!2. Set up a goal. Ok if you don't have any "solid" goal, it's gonna be real hard. If it's just because you want to impress someone, it's gonna be a long journey, my friend, and i wish you luck.3. It's gonna take a really long time. The first time i learned english was when i was in kindergarten and it took me like around four or five (or more) years to be able to hold a conversation with someone (like this, typing in english, such jolly much english).4. Dedication. Ok you can't learn a new language (especially if it's "hard to hear" or is really really unfamiliar) in just like a week and BAM you're an expert in that language. No. Practice everyday, talk to people (or yourself, or even better, your pet) with that language, even if it's just a simple "hi" or "how are you?", or when you're bored in class or something, read (or,,talk to yourself) the notes you took about that language, or maybe try to translate some words that you know to said language! [Ok but please focus to the class and dont mess up your grades, kiddo]5. Try to find a friend (or a pet, u can snuggle with em) to learn the language with! It's more fun and you both can make puns in that language and u can tell each other to "get out" in said language. A++ friendship advice6. Have fun! Ok dont pressure yourself in learning the language. Learn it in a fun way. Write it on a paper and toss it somewhere? Cool (fun story: my teacher used to have this one friend who hides paper all over their desk and body right before a test started and people thought they were cheating and turns out it was an effective learning method for them). Write it on a post-it and tape it to your shower so that you can read it when you forgot the next lyric to the song you were singing? Nice. Write it on a post-it and tape it all over the house? Very nice. Yell the words as loud as you can from the roof? That's some fuckin good shit right there.Basically, just familiarize yourself with the language, set up a goal, realize that it's gonna take a long time, dedicate your entire life and soul to it, practice, and have fun (in learning it)! And, good luck!
