There’s a giant hole in the wall, and by some product of overzealous ambition, Lina has signed up to help fix it. It’s a simple task, really— something she could probably do in her sleep if she didn’t spend so much of that time dreaming of her work.

“My dad taught me how to do this when I turned seven,” she asserts, letting the words push the so-called handyman a step back.

Half a second later, she nips at the tip of her tongue. She really shouldn’t bring up those details. Shaking her head — warding away the thoughts of her past — she reinforces her mockery by clicking her tongue loudly. Then, she turns the focus back to the incompetence of the work before her.

“Don’t you do this kinda stuff for a living?”
