📻 + lil viera 🩵💙
Send me 📻 + an oc and I'll give you a random song off their playlist + an explanation of why it's there
Viera!!!!!! I have so many good ones to pick from but I'm going with "Ptolemaea" by Ethel Cain
My Viera has essentially three "storylines" across her life (up to and including her own death), and this one is part of the very first one — when she is 9 years old during the Veilguard era.
It's a whole thing (I remember telling you the whole thing once, Vivi lmaooo), but I've begun associating this song when Viera gets kidnapped by Elgar'nan. The manipulation of this incredibly vulnerable and lonely child by the All-Father. He "blesses" her, despite the sins her true father (Solas) has committed, despite how long her mother (Ellana) has been futilely waiting. And how to get to this point, there was a senseless sort of violence committed against Viera, stoking the really bad abandonment issues this little girl has, that only Elgar'nan can soothe now. Because he is her father now :)
He is the First of the Firstborn, and she is the First of the Next. Not a daughter of a wolf hiding in the shadows, but a child of the sun. He is the Sun-Tamer, god of both the day and the night, and she was born during an eclipse. She was his from the start.
The vibes of this particular song is incredibly off-putting. When I listen to it, there's a rage and fear in the undercurrent of the lyrics, and it just so perfectly encapsulates all of Vi's feelings and the manipulations of Elgar'nan against her.
