vivisxction has come across the King

Zaun took some getting used to, and for anyone seeking bloodshed and unhappiness, it was a goldmine. There were plenty of colourful characters, plenty of mortals more than willing to throw their lot in with the River King for a chance of one thing or another, whether it be fame and power or just food on the table.

He’d eaten as well here as he almost had Bilgewater, and it was with idle thought that Tahm found himself languishing in an alleyway close to the lab of a doctor whose experiments seemed to be furnishing the River King with more desperate relatives than he could have possibly wished for. It had been such a good spot to make a deal that he’d returned here, every time he came to Zaun.

He’d never actually met the doctor. Perhaps this would change, he remarked idly, as his song drifted around the area.

Her shoulder was bleeding, and badly. Bullets usually did that-- unlucky for her, the damn thing didn’t go right through. He would have to take it out. She could barely lift a hand to ring the doorbell, and that was with her good arm.

She waited a moment or two, looking at the trail of blood she’d left behind her.

“Well then.”

"Hm…" Polka glanced around her empty shop with a sigh. Her mother had gone out a while ago to go shopping, leaving the young girl to watch over the shop in her absence. Considering how busy the day had been, it really wasn’t a problem for Polka. She just wished it was a little less… boring.

The familiar chime of the shop bell finally broke into her train of thought, and her eyes slowly focused on the customer. For a few minutes, she just stared at the stranger. Young adults were a rarity in the shop, and the few times that they did come to visit it was usually a pack of giggling girls, who were probably closer to teenagers than real adults.

A soft blush rose to her cheeks when she realized just how long she’d been staring at him, and she scrambled for something to say.

"A-ah, welcome to Coda’s Teas and Herbs! M-may I help you?"
