A "pedagogue" gived me some tips when I dissociate I'd like to share with you and your followers, I think it may works when wanting to self harm, needing to feel alive, anxiety.. : a "spiky massage ball" you can press and rub against you (not just feet and hand); plasticine; an elastic wristband (except if you (had) self harm); smelling lavender essence; ice; heat; carrying smthg in yr pocket (rock...). Anythg that makes you feel in security. Takes time finding the right thg. Hope it can help!
Yes! I’ve heard of most of these. I have I tag ‘lets_cope’ that has a bunch of alternatives. I’m going to keep this message in there.
Like you said, careful with the elastic wristband / rubber band esp. if you have a history of self injury.
Other things I like: tiger balm (or icy hot or biofreeze) and exfoliating in the shower!!
