Hey all! Just wanted to throw together a quick FAQ, as the ladies and I did one for our comic and I realized I had never considered doing one for myself! This will be a live document that will continue to change whenever a new question comes up that is either important OR gets asked a whole bunch!

Do you have an actual portfolio I can view?

Do you take commissions?
Not at the moment, but I will be opening up for commissions in the new year! Keep an eye on my blog for the prices post if you’re interested.
Will you do a trade with/request for me?
Ahh, sorry! Other than when I explicitly ask for prompts, I don’t actually have time to do requests or trades at the moment! Also, in terms of art trades it’s rare for me to accept art trades from anyone who’s not a friend of mine already. With requests, I will be opening a Patreon soon, so if you really want to have access to sketch requests there will be a Patron level that includes weekly request streams!
Will you draw my YouTube banner?
I would love to, but my illustrated banners are often very time intensive(ten plus hours), and so they aren’t something that I could ever do as a request. I am more than happy to do that kind of illustration and design work on commission, of course. Send me an e-mail and I can put together a quote for you!
I am also happy to make you a thematically matching icon, buttons, etc.
Are you in/did you go to art school?
I am in art school right now! I am slated to graduate in 2017(I say with fingers firmly crossed), although finances may force me to go on a school hiatus next year. We’ll see!

What comics are you currently working on?
Currently I am working on HeroWins[https://www.herowins.ca/], a webcomic that updates weekly every Tuesday, although we are just coming off a family crisis related hiatus.
I have a second webcomic, Hello Little One, in development right now. Some of you will know that as my “lesbian werewolf comic.” Hahaha. I am the sole proprietor of that comic, so to speak, so I am currently thumbnailing and writing the script. I hope to start posting Hello Little One online either summer 2016 or Winter 2017.
Lastly, I’m currently working on a submission for the Top Cow Talent Search, because it sounds really fun!
What comics do you read?
All kinds! While I am more into one off/short run independant comics, my tastes are kind of all over the place! But here’s two lists for you.
WEB: I read Dream*Scar by Heather Meade, Chirault by Ally Rom Coltoff, Shanties by Grace Roche, Shadoweyes by Sophie Campbell, Johnny Wander by Yuko Ota and Ananth Sanagriya, and Love Me Nice by Amanda Lafrenais, as well as creep my friend Sockie’s in-development comic The Sea Cried Out.

Oh dear, lots! Let’s see... Pokemon, Harvest Moon, Mass Effect, Five Knights at Freddy’s, Chrono Cross, Star Wars, Star Trek, Mad Max, Avatar, X-Men, MIMYM, Sense 8, The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra, Steven Universe, Strawberry Panic, Inuyasha, DBZ, and lots more.
What fandoms are actually active in right now?
Pokemon, Legend of Korra, Steven Universe, Star Wars. Right now that’s about it, but I’m about to be introduced to a bunch of new games and shows, so that might change in less than a month. Hahaha.

What do you use to make your art?
In terms of hardware, I have both a medium sized bamboo tablet that is several years old(and is my “travel” tablet), as well as a large sized Intuos 4 that I need to set up my desk so I can actually start using it again. That bad boy DOES NOT fit in my lap. For software I am currently using MyPaint and GIMP, with very little use of any non-opensource software.
What do you use for video editing?
For software I’m using Sony Vegas! I find that Vegas is pretty good for beginners because A)it’s fairly straightforward and B)there are TONNES of tutorials for it. I haven’t made the leap to try to find opensource software to replace it yet, although I might see what I can find. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with/what’s accessible to you.
Where do you get the music for your videos?
I look for sources that supply music with a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License! I refuse to use any work that doesn’t use this license or that I don’t have express, written permission to use. I also won’t use a non-commercial license, as I want the freedom to monetize my work if I want to. There are so many amazing CC-BY pieces out there, there’s no need to risk a copyright ding using copyrighted music you have no license for! Here are some of the providers I use:

What do you use to record your gaming?
For hardware I’m using a Blue Yeti USB Microphone, and a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920. For software I’m using Loilo Game Recorder.
