"I'm not jealous, why would you say that?"
an extensive prompt masterlist pt. 2
Models may spend time in front of cameras, but they will never execute the same amount of control that actors do. True – many must forged expressions for the ‘right look,’ but they’re merely fleeting lies. Yura prefers exposure anyway; never had she purposely filtered a thought, nor masqueraded feelings as indifference. Perhaps that’s why she revels in the company of Violet. It was fascinating. Glassy looks and painted smiles do little to conceal the inner workings, did she not know that?
A soft saccharine tune fills the moments before her answer; as though she’s muled over such a question with a fine tooth comb; her own fingers a perfect makeshift brush that travel down chestnut hair. “Why do you think?” Rhetorical questions are a favourable device while used, and yet indescribably frustrating for the soul on its receiving end. Empty laughter echoes as she juts her chin out in the direction of a young family; dirty shirts and whining youngsters spoiled rotten to the core with their candies and assortment of toys serves only as a bitter reminder.
Ostensibly, Violet was on the same boat. Curves of her lips, the softness of her feature -- they do not falter. Yet, Yura senses something in the dainty little existence -- and perhaps it’s just her own imagination once more becoming overwhelming -- that suggests earlier’s ‘jealousy’ (honestly, she was merely teasing about that) of a cute couple could never compare to this family unit. Dagger to the heart. It was painful to see the light completely disappear from her eyes. God knows what the poor girl suffered, for Yura knew in comparison her past was pale to some unfortunate souls.
“You too huh?”
She just hoped that Violet wasn’t one of those unfortunate souls.
