Don't you wish VIXX would go back to the Voodoo Doll Days?

This is often the thought that many of us lovers of VIXX's older music believe, and while their 2013-era music was, and is, considered their musical magnum opus, keep this thought in mind when you contemplate the same thought: Maybe they weren't meant to go back to those days. Now that's not to say that you can't feel the way you do, or that VIXX cannot go back to that time period of their music, but it seems a lot of people are quite upset with the path that VIXX has gone down with their most recent comeback, though to understand their change in music, requires a deeper, more subconscious view of how the group works. Starting with The Closer, I'd say that they've eventually entered a new period of VIXX that's grown & mature, a more advanced version of their former selves during 2013. They're still theatrical & epic, but instead, channel it through sleekness & streamlined precision that brings their sound into equilibrium. It's the type of music that makes an impact on you, but does so in a deeper, more internal manner...it doesn't cause too much of a distraction, but doesn't fade into the background. With their 2013 era music, VIXX's goal wasn't to just write up a song & slap on an image with the intention of building popularity, but rather to bring focus back to the music. Itself. Their image simply brought awareness to the visual, and even possibly, physical aspects of music on us, humans. Now after achieving their goal, VIXX, especially with Shangri-La, have simply been able to evolve into a more introspective, rich sound that carries the same impact as, say, Hyde, but in a less boisterous way. It moves you, but does so without disturbing you, either. It's the raging storm of emotions, yet you're caught in the eye of it all, the calmest & most surreal part of it. For the longest time, it took me a while to figure out why they'd never go back to their 2013 style of music, esp when it was so riveting, so groundbreaking, and so uncommonly cutting-edge. But when you come to think about it, you start to realize that sometimes, the best moments only happen once. Who knows, they MAY enter the same territory down the road. But one thing's for sure: VIXX are known as concept-dols for a reason, and not just bc of how extravagant, or bc of how "dark" they are, but because of how close they bring the listener to seeing the importance in details & intricacy, as well as in the music itself...no matter what kind of image they bring. TL;DR: it's upsetting to not see VIXX go back to their 2013 days, but perhaps it hasn't fully gone away. VIXX's impact is still evident, tho down a more mature, sleek "quiet storm" kind of avenue. VIXX may seemed to have settled down, when really, they're preparing us for their next era.
