In most mythologies, knowledge comes through tricksters. In Vikings, the trickster gives Ragnar both his boats and his destiny --- That’s right, making him a boat builder centered him, and was connected to the idea that a boat was a living, magical thing for a Viking. It seemed fitting that a God would be involved in its building.

Floki to Ivar: "I leave you alone for some weeks and you find a priest for yourself. You hurt me. Is that how you pay my love?"
Heahmund clearing his throat: "Actually... I am a Bishop."
Floki glares at Ivar who mutters: "I knew you two would get along."
