The Fever Series and everything I like about it
Sadly the fever series is extremely underrated.
the first book in itself doesn't strike entirely special but it's good it has it's points
We don't get the usual female tropes of that time, we get Mac.
She's like really feminine, she knows she's pretty, she knows how to use it, she's experienced and naiive at the same time, attatched to her family and had very simple goals in life.
We don't know how the main boy is until like four books in, we're shown like loads of peeps, main tsundere of all tsundere's is Barrons 9also yandere no doubt), horny on main "Vlane", Christian Mackeltar (for all the highlander fans eyyyyy), and even Malluce was briefly meh.
They're all very varied. The characters are characters.
Mac goes through grief the entire time she goes through thinking she's done with it and then realizing (sometimes not) she's really not over it. But that's normal for a human being to process.
Barrons being the tsundere king barely talks to her unless it's to scold her but damn that ass
Mac is also a tsundere
an entire series on angst and pain
Mac's sass
I told you V'lane was a shady fuck
Dani needs protection and lots and lots of love
fuck the sidhe-seers
Barrons is angst personified
you cannot not cry in one book unless you dead inside or just can't comprehend stuff
The universe Karen Marie Moning built is very competent, realistic, unique and extremely complicated
The first book might be rather tame but the series and the world as a whole is extremely good, there are no holes, everything that happens makes sense it doesn't look like a movie that was supposed to be one but fans wanted more so they make a hastily made rip off
Again it's really fucking realistic
people act like crowds react
mashign science and magic yo
Fae are assholes with the only exception of Adam, the queen and the King (who is most likely high)
Scariest part was when she got caught by the four princes fuck i was crying and shaking shit yo
Mac is sometimes (a lot) really annoying but that's also normal she's not omniscient like we are. The thing is she makes bizarre theories we see it in her view so we might go along with it. She sometimes doesn't notice things until later (a typical writing style but also very good).
The fae have a completely different attitude to everything giving us the real feeling of not human
the descriptions are awesome
if it was me I would still describe V'lane as blonde with probably blue eyes and he tan and Barrons would be tol, dark and angsty.
GREAT universe to create your own little story-why? because it's so big
the shadowfever caught me out of nowhere tho
Reading Dani's tale of events also makes me cry, she's too young for any of this and this just punches in how not everyone gets lucky enough to be at "just the right age" she's fourteen and she has to go through all that shittt
Ryodan better not fucking fuck up
Also Lor is the sass queen but he gets burned a lot too
FUCK OFF CRUCE
Save Christian pls
Really not for kids not because of the eyy sexy time but the theme is often dark, fantasy, and gruesome. I am on hold in reading Burned because honestly I'm scared and it's been like five months since i read it and it will be a while I am extremely concerned for my red-irish-sonic-sugar-jacked-sihde-seer
Dani is a child and it's painfully obvious
She has like zero impulse control and Ryodan's trying his best to present himself as hers but she's still being nyah
Basically read the fever series it's great, painful, funny, makes you contemplate everything. Thank you.
