I don’t remember where veronica and duncan were at during the season 1 finale (i think they were still at “we might be siblings and we had nonconsensual sex but only one of us remembers it” so veronica isn’t being completely stupid here) but would it not have been easier for her to call him up (or even just text him if he doesn’t want to answer) and say “hey i’ve got a lead on lilly’s case, can i look around her room for a second” than to do what she did, which was disguise herself as a waiter, sneak into the kanes’ house, drop a plate and alert lilly’s actual fucking murderer to her presence, and then uncover the evidence that condemns him AS HE WATCHES HER FROM THE DOORWAY OF HER DEAD BEST FRIEND’S BEDROOM BEFORE FOLLOWING HER INTO HER CAR AND SETTING HER ON FIRE
