u ever dive deep into the psych of one of your main antagonists and come to the realization that "wow. they're Actually 👏 Fucked 👏 Up 👏 and need serious therapy/help" and were only ever an antagonist because they didn't understand things from the very beginning, and built an empire of servitude to a god who isnt there based on that lack of understanding?

... i have created a fantastic antagonist, and made their redemption arc so utterly unreachable because they've traumatized so many people, and don't even realize or understand what they've done, and the sheer lengths they've gone to that they've traumatized all these people so badly. they just. don't understand it..,
