LONG TALKS W KRISTEN ON THE TWEETER ABOUT THIS it's so hard because like, there are some pretty straightforward predictable castings that ARE straightforward and predictable BECAUSE they'd be really good. but also like, why take the boring route??? like joe walker batman levels of predictable. snoozeville

basically here's what I know to be certain: dylan IS audrey II and britney IS the solo in skid row. jaime on you never know is also rly cute. beyond that it kind of all depends on who seymour is?? because different seymours need different dynamics w audrey, orin and mushnik that affect like the whole fuckin thing

I think here was my original thought long ago when this first started being a thing in my brain

seymour - aj audrey - meredith orin - joey (or, in my wildest dreams, pomme) mushnik - nick strauss

this is a really good solid configuration and I see nothing wrong with it. BUT. aj is proper theatre famous now?? so kind of like, maybe not............ which leads us to brosenthal as seymour being the next most obvious choice. I think p much the only people I can see as seymour are class of '11 bros or thereabouts. but do I like meredith with brosenthal as romantic leads or is that weird? at what point do you change audreys?

also, this was all pre-jeff. jeff is the O B V I O U S choice for orin, and I think, REALISTICALLY, if starkid were ACTUALLY doing it, they'd cast him. it's his character archetype that he plays a lot PLUS the vocals are EXACTLY his vocal range which would be great. like honestly I'd love to just watch his performance of it's just the gas isolated out of context and not necessarily the whole show omg. but JEFF has such great rapport with RACHAEL that I think at that point rachael would need to be audrey?? even though I KNOW meredith said it's her ~dream role or whatever but I honestly can't see jeff and meredith as a thing. so then who's the rachael seymour?? ROBERT???? again, in the version of this that actually potentially happens in the real world, this seems like a real decision starkid would make. plus I know robert genuinely wants to play seymour almost as much as I do so like, shrugsville

but here's the thing: kristen likes ROBERT as ORIN. which like. how fun and wacky would that be!!!! I especially love him in the context of "the actor who plays orin also plays every random person in the meek shall inherit" like I'm crackin up at him being the editor's wife. still can't decide who I like as seymour in THAT context though. brosenthal still??? I feel like they're almost a tiny bit too similar. but I have a hard time imagining anyone outside of brosenthal, aj, and maybe joey as seymour. EXCEPT

this occurred to me in the shower I was like LIAM WOULD BE THE MOST PRECIOUS??? and I LOVE liam and meredith as romantic leads together, like that's cute as shit. and I think literally any of our options for orin work with liam seymour. but where THIS one falls apart is mushnik - I don't think nick strauss could be mushnik to a liam seymour. I think it has to be dan. WHICH IS FIINNNNNE AND GREAT honestly one of the hardest casting decisions is which strauss to be mushnik because it's a role that's soooo well-suited to both of them. I think nick is more fun to have on mushnik and son but dan would be fucking great at a lot of the non-music scenes just being a deadpan asshole dad (like he is in real life oop). so liam and dan is like just great just freaking great

but again there's no real SOLID option for seymour because would liam even do the thing??? so we have like. AJ who's genuinely famous so it's hard. brosenthal who's an easy slightly less interesting choice and matches up weird with any of the audrey options. rob who's in fucking australia. liam who is questionable at best. and then

emily's wild-card scenarios, the first of which will honestly never occur and the second of which will LITERALLY NEVER OCCUR OUTSIDE OF MY BRAIN JUST HAVING FUN LITTLE DAYDREAMS

HA AH HA IT IS A JOKE. but omg the version of this show where marty is seymour??? this is not the starkid version I guess, it's the verse factory version or something. noah ginex audrey II puppet instead of nick lang audrey II puppet. BUT NA TU RA LLYYYYY in the world where marty is seymour, ali is audrey. they're downtown new york trash children in love, can you not just SEE marty's dumb MARTY FACE doing the sad "but then there's AU~DREY~" part of the meek shall inherit?? I think any of the orins would work with this combo, but jeff or joey best. god I wanna watch marty and joey do a thing. HOWEVER, this is the one context where I think maybe neither of the strausses for mushnik?? I'm thinking more like....nick gage??? THIS IS THE WACKY FANTASY VERSION I TOLD YOU but like having nick be so small compared to tall-ass gangly marty would just make this SO funny and I am really into having nick gage as mushnik at least once in these elaborate dreams of mine. the corey version is stupider than stupid and involves JAIME as audrey, the weirdest version yet, and dan as mushnik. and I think this is a great context for the robert orin. hehehe

(also I then went even further down the rabbit hole and started thinking about joey debettencourt as seymour but that's like, a real thing that might possibly happen in reality and I made myself stop before I cried)

this is really random but concerns like...any and all of my friends groups but mostly either of the two groups I go to cons with

my mom used to have (and still has? possibly?) this really cool grownup board game called true colors. she used to play with her family or her girlfriends like all the time when I was REALLY little (like under the age of 8) and I always wanted to play too but it was because i TOTALLY did not understand how the game worked, there is literally no way for a 7 year old to play this game, I think I just desperately wanted to be part of The Group

BUT I think we should get it BECAUSE it is the best now that I am old enough to get it it's basically like, there's a situation on a card like "if X happened who is most likely to do ABC" and you vote on who in the group is most likely to do that thing...I think you can have multiple votes too like maybe each person gets 2 or 4?? so you can put them all to one person or split them up. and THEN for each question, people write down if they think they will get all, most, some, or none of the votes, and if you guess accurately, you get the points? the tagline of the game was like "do you see yourself as others see you" and I think this is a PERFECT game for lang + the ekgs and probably also for The Family + the philly crowd like omg 

like the one I remember was something about a hot person jumping into the pool in such a way that their bathing suit bottoms came off, and the question was like, who's the first to jump in and "help them find it" AKA to sneak a peek. lmao. and everyone voted for this one woman from my mom's office or something

but we could totally have fun with making up our own like we did for telestrations like literally the thing that got me on this tangent was just thinking like "who in the group is the best at using reaction gifs? well it's obviously claire" lmao

anyway yeah cool. wish I had the money to buy this right now sigh lol
