i may genuinely cry
ok but genuinely are any popular vocaloid producers women?
Who are your favorite Vocaloid producers?
a bunch of obscure ones who haven’t made a song since 2012 and have no PVs
in order:
mamomo-p
sei-peridot (they literally tuned Luka the best I’ve ever heard her in a song from 2010, in the song Damsel Jade)
ryuryu
himawari
river (they only have 6 monthly listeners on Spotify!)
these producers changed my life
please listen to them, I’m begging, they have so much talent but barely any fans
かめりあ/Camellia (music producer)
Masaya "Camellia" Oya (Musicians) is an Anime Girl!
Something I like about Vocaloid is how each producer has their own tuning style
One example I love is Not A Devil by DECO*27 and PinocchioP. You can clearly hear the difference between DECO and Pino’s Miku’s - Pino’s is much softer compared to how DECO’s is more harsh
It’s not even with Miku - it happens with all voicebanks and producers and I love it
For example, Azari’s way of tuning flower is a lot softer compared to how harsh Hiiragi Kirai tunes flower
(And Ghost and Pals managed to tune flower for English songs despite flower not having an English voicebank)
Anyway there’s my fun little rant about producers and voicebanks over :D
hi i saw your post about young vocaloid producers and stuff. it always feels Weird to see but i also think that the inherent indie & community nature of vocaloid blurs the lines between producers and listeners to a significant degree. like, it makes me realize that really the only difference between the producer and me is that the p decided to pick up a synth and a pirated daw a little earlier and i can do that too if i want to? like i dunno i feel like seeing peers younger than me succeed is weirdly motivating in a way if it makes sense
I've been feeling more like that lately! When I was younger I saw producers as almost role models, people I always thought very highly of, so maybe that contributed to a feeling of being on the lower end of a pedestal of sorts when it came to the vocaloid community (not that I ever resented it or anything though), but now that I'm a little older and also getting into more obscure/not very famous producers and follow many of them on platforms other than just listening to their music, most of that feeling has gone away. I really like what you said, that's also something I really love about the vocaloid/vocal synth community that I feel isn't as common with other music communities
But I still feel like I'm gonna have to take a step back every time I see a producer the same age as me or younger, or producers who started really young (I'm still not over R.I.P making their first vocaloid songs at 13 years of age, this feels like when I found out AURORA wrote Runaway at 11). I usually get that feeling whenever I see people younger than me doing cool stuff (I don't know why, maybe it's a sign that I'm growing more mature/into an adult? It's not like I never did cool stuff at a younger age either)
