I saw this image on United24's BlueSky account around Halloween. While vodyanyks, or vodyanoy, aren't usually shown with fish tails, this dude has a fish fin peeking out of the water behind him. They're usually shown as older men with beards, and occasionally webbed feet.

VODIANOI

In Russian folk tradition, Vodianoi of Vodnik is a very strange creature indeed, appearing in many shapes. Vodianoi is variously seen as an old man with a blue face, white beard and green hair; a floating log covered with moss; an old scaly or furry old man with paws, glowing eyes, horns and a tail; or a giant and ugly fish. Depending on the phases of the moon, Vodianoi would appear younger or older. He lived in deep waters and often tried to lure people to come and join him there. Every being was at risk from his attentions except those whose occupations involved water, like fishermen and millers who took care to propitiate him with a cockerel. Vodianoi was particularly busy in the millrace and would lurk near the millwheel in the hope of someone slipping into the waters.
