Got bored and decided to test my programming skills by seeing if I could hack into my helmet's voice modulator and set it to literally anything besides "Standard Stormtrooper 1."

Aaaaaaaaand....SUCCESS!

I had a blast cycling through the various settings.

Today I went about my day as normal, but everything I said was autotuned. The cadets thought it was hilarious.

I think tomorrow I'll go with "Traditional Clone Trooper." The accent is awesome and it makes the really old officers nervous.

So I hear this unearthly screech from my brother’s room

and I say the heck was that?? And my dad says (from the computer desk) ‘the voice modulator’. For background, the Voice Modulator is a horrible green and red microphone someone got us for Christmas a couple years back that can supposedly change your voice to sound like an elf. What it actually sounds like is a parakeet having gravel shoveled down it’s throat. Anyway, this thing had disappeared like fourteen months ago and I’d forgotten we’d ever owned it. In fact, I thought we didn’t own it anymore because I thought that my parents had gotten rid of it. Which is exactly what I asked my dad- hadn’t mom gotten rid of that? And my dad, in the most defeated voice I have ever heard, just said “We tried.”

School was interesting.

Started my engineering class like normal, but the cadets thought I was a substitute teacher. Didn't believe it was me, even after I explained the Casual Friday thing.

I figured they were just messing with me at first. I was like, "I know you're not used to my face, but I've been lecturing you for ages now. Surely you at least recognize my voice!?"

But they absolutely did not.

And so I was today years old when I realized exactly how different the voice modulators in stormtrooper helmets make one sound. I do not know what to do with this information. Yet.
