One of my engineering students who also studies biology has requested a deadline extension for the confetti cannon project.

Since we're working with plant-based confetti, anyway, she really wants to genetically engineer a plant that will "fire" its own seeds. Like a really aggressive dandelion. That is also a blaster.

Her idea is to create a biological confetti cannon that is environmentally friendly, colorful, and (after some time to regrow) self-reloading. It will just take quite a lot of time to grow, crossbreed, and study plants until it is perfected. Maybe even years.

I'm not gonna lie, that sounds cool as hell. These younglings truly are our future. I told her she can have all the time she needs as long as she keeps me updated with frequent lab notes.

Can we please have some more Megatron-worshipping cult? Or the rest of the "yandere!Knockout/St-3v3 and Starscream bond"?

Starscream almost flew through the halls as he made his way back to his quarters. Knockout had kept him in the med bay, for who knows how long. All the seeker wanted to do now was curl up in his heated birth next to his loving and sane mate.

“Starscream, there you are! I was so worried about you!” St-3v3 was waiting outside of his room, “when I heard that you were released from the med-bay I came as fast as I could.”

“I was worried about what Knockout would do to you!” The seeker glomped his mate and rushed them inside as fast as he could. After they were in the door closed and locked, keeping the pair from the rest of the world.

“You're in a cuddly mood today, was the doctor that bad?” St-3v3 said as he and Starscream collapsed into the berth.

“You have no idea.” Starscream smiled into his mate’s neck cables and started to fall into recharge.

“So Knockout,” Megatron stared down at the medic, “you tried to break the bond between the Starscream and his favorite drone?”

“He’s wasting his time on worthless canon fodder!”

Megatron smiled, “you and I in agreeance, come along and I’ll show you what Soundwave and I have planned for our sweet seeker.”

Discovered a new Life Day tradition!

Well, it's "new" to me. The culture I. . . uh. . . appropriated borrowed it from has been participating in this tradition for a while now.

ANYWAY

It's called "Elf on the Shelf" and what you do is you place a doll of one of Santa's helpers somewhere on the ship. The story is that the elf is there to observe your habits and tell Santa how good you've been so he'll bring you the good gifts, but the fun of it is to set the doll up in fun new poses every day!

I brought up the idea to Hux in the morning meeting. I thought we could try it on the Finalizer to raise morale and help grow the Life Day spirit among the crew.

Hux immediately shot it down, though. He pointed out that the First Order already has security cameras everywhere, and he is well aware of everything the crew does. Their reward for being "good" would be the gift of being a member of the First Order for another day. He said there would be no need for any "silly dolls".

Ugh. This guy wouldn't know what "childlike wonder" was if it bit him on the ass.

Well, my students managed to put all of those puzzles together.

Their pattern recognition, problem solving, and teamwork skills are impressive. I'm very proud of them.

Except I was really hoping this project would last at least a few days so I could slack off a bit longer. Ugh. Maybe I can make them write an essay about what they learned from the experience or something.

Looks like Katie strayed from the lesson plans yesterday and instead of discussing general maintenance of First Order ships, she decided to teach my students how to hot-wire an AT-M6.

Well, at least they'll know how to start one in an emergency, I guess?

Anyway, I should probably make sure I can properly cover all of my classes for the foreseeable future before she teaches them how to become a gang of space pirates or something.

Hux asked me why I was bothering to ask for volunteers to help with my project when I could just order some of the droids to do it.

First of all: Rude. I don't just order droids to do stuff. The poor things don't have a ton of free will to begin with. If you want something from a droid, at least let them choose to help you as much as they're able.

Second: I am about to ask every droid I pass tomorrow reeeeeeeal nice to help me out. There may be bribes involved.
