Alright, story time!

When I was young, my brain wasn’t wired correctly, in the talking part. Whenever I wanted to say ‘a’ it could be a ‘k’ but it was so consistent ‘a’ was always a ‘k’ and ‘t’ was always a ‘b’ for example. According to what I’ve been told this was either really rare or hadn’t been seen before, and a whole bunch of different people were studying my brain

Anyways, I spoke like this ‘twrqmkmrel?’ Long story short, I had to take speech therapy for years. This therapy was long, hard (I had to rewire my own brain), and so annoying I burst into tears and had breakdowns over it. A few years ago, I finally stopped going, my speech good enough to quit.

I still have a lisp, and to be honest I hate my voice with a burning passion. I know it’s strange, and different, and ugly, and messed up. But all my friends don’t care, same with my family, even if they do joke about it sometimes and really hurt my feelings sometimes without meaning to.

In my girlfriend’s class a girl named, let’s call her Ann, is a complete bitch. She’s super popular but makes fun of people like there’s no tomorrow. She also makes fun of my girlfriend, which makes me want to slap her even more.

So, she decided to pick on my voice. Normally bullying doesn’t bother me, but my voice is a really bad topic, so instantly I was trying to heard back tears. She kept mocking me, and being rude, and asking me if I even spoke English.

Guys.

Bullying hurts, okay?

It makes people feel sick, their stomach curls up and every word you say is like a knife to their heart. Even if you’re joking, it could be a really sensitive subject to them. It could be making them squirm as they try to hold back tears, and you might not even notice. So just don’t do it.
