Although I haven't seen the film yet, please allow me to give credit to my second imaginary ex-boyfriend (🤪) for sharing a clip on his Instagram account, thus inspiring me to do this.
I took an audio recording of myself on November 17, 2017 which I have already uploaded before. As of today, however, I thought it would be nice if it was accompanied with subtitles.
Yes, I'd rather stick to "voice acting" because, as I have mentioned before: (1) I look pathetic, and (2) I'm terrible in memorization.
Ideally speaking, and as far as I'm concerned, reading something aloud and recording an audio suit my capacity (because I have no capability) as opposed to improvising lines and recording a video of myself. It's much "easier" for me that way, and it's also one of the reasons why I admire people who are effortless (and maybe even gifted in a natural or nurtured sense) in the acting department.
If there ever were a competition among amateurs for spontaneous banter, and perhaps include impromptu debate, you best believe that I'd be in the bottom rank. Needless to say, I can't improve even if I wanted to!
Talk about stating the obvious, I had too much time on my hands (as is now) and couldn't think of better ways to utilize it in a productive manner, so I decided to tap into my creativity. Idle hands are the devil's playground. How privileged am I to have the opportunity for trivial things such as this?
Don't mind me. Pay attention to the message. It's pretty meaningful, especially in the current state of the world that we are living in. It's timely and relevant. It always has, but I'm still clinging to hope for change and miracles.
PS I may have used pregnant pause (for emphasis and to convey a point) excessively.

With Quimbo's Quest hitting Netflix NZ March 15th, we thought it would be fun to share a few behind the scenes voice records, starting with the always amazing Rhys Darby who voiced Morten the Flea in the episode "Buy One, Get One Flea".
Here's a super fun behind the scenes clip from our Quimbo's Quest title theme song recording session with the uber talented Cohen Holloway (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows). This is the first time we'd written a theme song that needed to be sung by the lead character... so it was amazing to see Cohen absolutely nail it... eventually ;)
Also a big thanks to Karl Steven for lending his musical talents and pulling it all together.
Here's a super fun look at the always hilarious Kura Forrester bringing Puku to life in Jandal Burn...now streaming on the HEIHEI app
