I immediately start to hate even friends a little if they have the nerve to voice text or add me to a group text.

Both should be reserved for urgent matters or actual business.

Also colloquially known as a "voice text" or "voice message," the feature has been in our phones for years. But only recently has it emerged

As I understand it, texts and emails will still go through when someone unblocks you. I’ve sent mostly pictures, and a link. Though I have no confirmation yet. And I was thinking I might start to send voice notes…
