He knew little about who this ‘Luke Skywalker’ person was, but he knew enough to pull off this trick. Loki’d overhead Quill going on about the man, seeing how much he worshipped him, and with how bored Loki was, he felt it was a perfect opportunity to play one of his classic pranks; all be it with a more unique twist. “My apologies-” Disarming the ‘lightsaber’ (which was a stupid name for a weapon), Loki placed it on his belt and took a step towards Quill, reaching a hand out in friendship. It was almost too much to keep the ruse going with how over excited the Guardian was getting, but Loki just about managed to maintain his disguise. He had to remind himself that continuing on would make it a much sweeter reward when Quill finally realised his hero didn’t exist.

Leia and Han won’t believe it when I tell them about this.” From what Loki could recall, this Luke Skywalker was one of those humble sorts, who could never quite believe that their luck was turning and that they were some big hero. In the movies he’d been made to watch before this idea had come to him, he’d noted that whilst Luke’d had his cocky moments, he was one of those straight and narrow good guys that Loki had always found boring. “I didn’t expect anyone to know about me this far out in space. How did you....how did you know about all that stuff?” To make it more believable, Loki had taken the incentive to ‘age up’ Luke a little bit. If you wanted to sell something like this, the details were important.
