Voices4: Marching For Those Who Cannot

Massive turnout for the 2018 NYC Pride March. Despite the introduction to wristbands and over the top corporate branding, the Resistance Contingent kept the spirit of Pride burning.

I had the honor of spending this years Pride with Voices4 — a direct action activist group fighting for global LGBTQIA+ liberation. This year, dressed in black with armbands and flag draped caskets, they were “Marching For Those Who Cannot.”

Kiss-In & Rally Outside Uzbekistan Consulate

Kiss-In & Rally to protest LGBTQIA+ violence in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan. Hosted by Voices4 and RUSA LGBT - Russian-Speaking American LGBT Association in front of the Uzbekistan Consulate in New York City. The Kiss-In is a “defiant counterpoint to the oppression faced by the global queer community”

This weekend, Voices4 organized a demonstration in Washington Square Park to show global queer solidarity in response to the new draconian laws of Brunei. Recently, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah made several reforms to the country's penal code, which includes death by stoning as a punishment for homosexuality.
