NYC Pride Mural Work In Progress Shots: Little Ricky x It Gets Better
Some work in progress shots of Little Ricky with LGBTQ+ youth from It Gets Better painting this year’s Pride mural in NYC.
This is the 9th pride mural I have curated at 2nd Ave since the great Steve Stoppert so generously offered me the wall in 2019. Steve understood my passion for creating more visibility for Queer Street Art and was a huge supporter of my book and film, Out In The Streets.
This year I was so excited to have my dear friend Little Ricky from Los Angeles paint the wall. And even better, we got to work with LGBTQ+ youth from It Gets Better!

We also had so many amazing visitors, including the decades long artist/activist Joe Ferrari and George Wittman—who assisted Keith Haring paint his 1989 mural, ‘Once Upon A Time’ at the LGBTQ Community Center.
One of the missions of Out In The Streets is to build community and empower future generations—so both Ricky and I are so grateful to be manifesting that dream!
What a truly magical way to kick of Pride Month!
Make art, build community, and get OUT IN THE STREETS.
