I LOVE #ElectionDay! I am exhausted, all my good nerves are gone but I am excited because I believe in the power of the vote. I will never forget my first Presidential Election in 2000 - Bush vs. Gore. It politicized me, piqued my interest in politics and showed me that Black women are the baddest and the undisputed champions of the American Electorate! I woke up today and I am not worried, I am not fearful because whatever happens today, the fight is not over. I think the only sane choice is to vote #BidenHarris2020. This duo can minimally bring us out of the mania of the last 4 years and I can work with that. What I can't work with is a narcissistic, incompetent, sociopath who killed 230,000 people with his inability to lead us through #COVID19, who is instigating our nation into a race war and who hates women, our humanity and our Human Right to #ReproJustice. Today is OUR day. I want to shout out my entire @NewVoices4RJ #VoiceYourVote Project Team who have engaged hundreds of thousands of Black women voters this year in #Pennsylvania and #Ohio - y'all did the damn thing and I am infinitely proud of each and every one of you. To all of the Black organizers on the front lines organizing for electoral justice, job well done and your leadership and contributions will go down in history. To everyone voting today, you know the mission which is to vote by any and all means necessary and no one can take away our Black joy. I voted by mail for my family, my nephews and Goddaughters, for my Mother and my maternal line, for the legacy of #ShirleyChisholm, for #BreonnaTaylor, #DominiqueRemmieFells and #WalterWallaceJr, for the Black suffragists and for Black liberation. As Mother would say, "Fight the power!" and "Do good, Shug!" Let's do this! #IAMAVOTER #IVoted #ElectionDay (at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHIPTjFhp6ROZPt4iU787I0vYHFJzcV-0etNbI0/?igshid=ctd7vcb48fkp
