Roevember 2025: Day 4 - Creature

Roevember Day 2: Campfire

The realization startled me. I’ve been building campfires since I was too small to lift the logs myself. I can do every step in the process in my sleep: clearing the pit, arranging the kindling, lighting the sparks, building it into a slow and lasting heat.

And yet, never once have I done it alone. All those years of trying to find the biggest rocks for the ring before Thuvwilt got them all. All those arguments about stick arrangement, the burned fingers, the charred popotos that fell into the coals, the little chants we sang to chase the smoke from our side. Our father’s songs. Our grandma’s stories. I’ve never built a campfire in absolute silence. Not until I left.

Bonus:

I couldn’t sleep before getting on a flight this morning so at 3:00 am I loaded into the game and found friends waiting for me 😭😭😭

I’ve never stumbled across Alpha and Omega in the world outside of seasonal events before, let alone had them show up right beside me like that. Some little buddies came to keep Eidin company by the fire after all 🥺

Roevember XIV 2025

I’m only just now starting this cause I couldnt decide if I wanted to write or try and do screenshots ;w; So here’s the start of a thread that I’ll be adding to throughout the month. ❤️

Day One: Starting Out

The morning that Fyrwyb left La Noscea for the first time was a clear one. It was early enough in the morning that the sun hadnt yet peaked over the horizon, but it felt normal to her and her parents. The farm back home didnt wait for slow risers.

“You’re sure you’ve got enough layers on, love? The air’s much colder way up in the sky,” Saelzswys fussed, tightening the collar of her daughter’s coat.

“Ma, please. I promise, I’ll be fine. Ye dressed me yerself this mornin’,” Fyrwyb groaned. The sound was exaggerated, a small smile tugging at her lip as she hugged the older woman. It was a longer hug than usual, both of them squeezing a little tighter. When they finished, Fyrwyb’s father tussled her hair with his massive palm and pulled her in for one big bear-hug of a squeeze.

“Don’t ye become a stranger, y’hear me? Ill not have me only daughter get eaten by one o’ them Shroud bears and have t’ hear it from one o’ those tree-huggin’ recluses.”

“Da!” Fyrwyb exclaimed under her breath, moving to whack his sleeve with the back of her hand. He only bellowed a boisterous laugh and wiped a small tear from the corner of his eye.

“We’re gonna miss you, girl,” her mother chimed back in, giving Fyrwyb’s hand a gentle squeeze and another smile. Fyrwyb returned both.

“I’ll be back t’ visit before ye both know it.”

The trio stepped into a group hug—one more goodbye—and Fyrwyb turned with a deep breath to address the woman at the airship landing counter.
