(From our discord rp, at some point after Jon's release from Arkham. Definitely didn't forget to send this what are you talking about 😅)
"It wouldn't be like him to miss out on such an opportunity," Jonathan agreed that the silence from Dent was highly unusual given the circumstances. The lack of action brought him comfort, but it seemed to stress his partner. "I could contact Harley if you'd like. See if she's heard anything through the grapevine. Although, you'd have to be careful how you use any information she might give me."
There was a fair amount of hesitation in the way Jon moved; it was slowed as if he might spook his partner when he closed his book. His full attention was now on Bruce as he asked, "Do you want to talk about Harvey?" There were some things that he knew about the two and given the threat he received while in Arkham he could easily make some educated guesses as to how Dent felt, or once felt, about Bruce, but he didn't know much about the disgraced district attorney besides what he'd heard from Harley and discovered online. "Were you both childhood friends?" He prodded softly. "Or did you meet in college?"
Following one last blow against the freestanding punching bag Bruce had dragged into his study, he sighed and slumped into the loveseat near the window. "Maybe," he responded to his partner's offer. "He shouldn't be able to make a move without me knowing, but if she knows anything I've missed, I'll take whatever leads I can get." He'd be out there in the streets if Alfred wasn't keeping him on partial house arrest for the night out of fear that Harvey's plan might simply be to finally get rid of Batman.
"I didn't have any childhood friends," Bruce answered, "but he was my first. We met at the end of my sophomore year of college. He was a junior in the same Economics class I was taking. He brought up a lot of interesting arguments and ideas, and he had this way of speaking that had people hanging onto every word. It wasn't fake either. He really cared about the things he was talking about, cared about other people... He was a good man."
//In response to this open starter/plotting invitation, for anyone confused.
