hearing other systems talk about their headspaces is so funny because they’re getting apartments, control panels, gardens, houses, etc. and all we’ve got is a caution tape X on the floor, an overturned laundry basket, and a conference table.

Today in “Questions I Never Thought I’d Have to Ask”: is gun a xenogender?

1. Do you have a collective name? How was it chosen?

As long as I’m reading the question right, we do! We’re Voidlings, which one of our roommates came up with based on the fact that our system name is the Voidborne System. The body has aphantasia, so our headspace is primarily (for now) a concept-based void. We’re brought by that void, so we’re Voidlings.

7. Does your system have ageless system members?

Kind of? Poet’s age is Fae, Haven’s age is god, Schrödinger’s age is cat, and Specter’s age is hellhound. But in general, most of us don’t have specific numerical ages, just a general stage of life we’re in.

13. Do any system members use xenogenders or neopronouns?

No explicit already-labeled xenogenders, but Escort 97’s gender is gun, Haven’s gender is god, and Poet’s gender is Fae.

I use xae/xaen pronouns, JT Thirteen uses val’/val’r, and Khaos uses any and all.

19. What is the weirdest part about being a nonhuman system member?

Weirdest part is all of the things that each of us feel like we’re missing. Tails, horns, teeth, etc. There’s some overlap in all of it, but much less than you would think. In JT Thirteen’s case, the poor kid is missing a heart and somehow gained lungs, which val’ hates.

Each of us feels like we should be able to make sounds or use body language we can’t right now, and it makes it hard to communicate without significant effort. It doesn’t often get to the point of dysphoria, but it’s just something that we are Constantly Aware Of.
