kaori; the former wife of Noah; the sole reason he gave up his soul and succumbed to the life and nature of a demon.
she was a vibrant young lady who wore a bright smile nearly all the time. that was, up until the night she confessed infidelity to her husband, a man who’d never experienced heartbreak as they had spent the majority of their childhood and beyond together. she was known as loyal and head over heels for noah; they were inseparable. she was his light as well as he was hers.
however, a secret lies within her confession to cheating; it was nothing more than just a kiss. but kiss or not, she was responsible for her own heartbreak and her husband’s as well. being who she was, she could no longer bear the guilt or the weight of it, and came clean to him. before she could explain in more detail, the man was on a rampage and, as she’d never seen him in such way before, fear silenced her.
it was clear when the wedding ring was thrown at her face and the words “i hate you” were spat in her direction that she’d damaged the one beautiful thing about her life, and at the time it felt like no reparations could be made. other things had been going downhill before then; her inability to become pregnant, increasing pressure in the work place as well as growing anxiety. she felt trapped and as if everything happening to her as of late was her own fault; a punishment of being such a terrible horrible being.
so she did the only thing she thought she could do, and in the end it corrupt not only just noah, but herself as well. deep down inside she’d hoped her husband would emerge from their once shared bedroom and find her in time to save her. she thought maybe the scare would help them, help her, but things didn’t work according to plan.
her revival felt like being trapped in a prison. everything felt like a constant dream-like state, but when she slept she only had nightmares. she only felt pain and each night her body would relive her organs shutting down, and she’d awake with a gasp. every day was like waking back up from being dead and trying again. she couldn’t function. she couldn’t feel. she couldn’t love noah properly, and for some reason her image of him had become skewed.
it was after her second, untimely death that kaori’s soul was – unbeknownst to noah – dragged to hell where she would reside as a demon herself. unfortunately, she did not have the same luxury as her husband to live on earth outside of flame, so her already skewed image of him only worsened and began to blur even more. following years of torment and suffering, she learned to hate noah; the memories of him and her vanished.
after years without her, noah still wears a heavy heart for his late wife, and at some point attempts to summon her soul back to earth, not knowing where she’d been for nearly two decades. this results in her possessing him, messing with his current relationships, and creating chaos for him until she manages to confiscate a body of her own.
