"what, you don't like neela's selection of masks? and here i thought i'd take a picture to preserve the memory of you looking absolutely adorable." oh, she shouldn't poke fun when he was already in such an abysmal state. but, she appeases him -- or at least hopes to-- with one more gentle kiss between the valley of two knuckles.

after a quick call to neela and a text to ichiji to make sure to provide any assistance required to the nurse until it was time for his own shift to end, the doctor brought law along back to her place. thankfully, her apartment wasn't so far from campus, less time spent out in the elements meant less time spent collecting pollen and other allergens that aggravated law's symptoms.

"face me." shoko instructed, sitting next to him on her couch. hovering her glowing hand over his face, the irritated skin around his nostrils and eyes gradually healed back to their normal state, redness and dryness dissipating. allergies were more of a gray area for her capabilities. while she could reduce the physical byproducts of the symptoms such as the irritated and inflamed portions of his skin, she could not control the environment nor its affects on him. at the very least, she could ease the discomfort for the time being.

"better? it was mostly a paperwork day. i didn't need to heal anyone, so if you need me to do more---" thumbs brushed under his eyes and then swiped across his cheekbones. "just say the word." / @voidcenturyseashanties , continued.

He drew a long drag from his cigarette, inhaling the smoke and nicotine for a long breath before finally releasing it. Blowing the residual smoke out into the open air of the upper balcony he was currently standing on. It was a closed-off area of the Baratie, designed specifically for the staff only as a place to escape the bustle of the restaurant when they had a break.

Having finally finished the night shift and clean up afterward, he'd assumed he was the last one awake. Spending an hour or so prepping for the morning shift to help out the old man. A habit that came from his years of training under Zeff, originally being the time period when he'd practice his knife work. Now it was just soothing to have the kitchen to himself.

The sudden presence of the newest crewmember, however temporary it may be, had his gaze shifting from the moon high above to her. Taking in the soft features for a moment before smiling softly and dropping his head for a breath before looking back to her. "What makes you think that?"

The blond gave her a very skeptical look, not buying her story one bit.

❝ Lunchtime was roughly.... ❞ he trailed off, long enough to check his watch, ❝ ... an hour ago. So you missed that. ❞

A part of him couldn't really wrap his head around the fact that she, such a sweet and caring person who usually always put everybody else's needs before her own, didn't even take care of herself when it came to basic needs. She, as a nurse, should at least know that much.

Eyes scanned her desk. Nanami could have sworn she usually had a bowl full with treats for the kids to take whenever they had to get patched up. ❝ ... did the idiot really eat all of your treats? ❞ The question was just there for formalities. The lack of them was an answer enough.

A soft sigh escaped him, Nanami shaking his head. ❝ Come on. Get your things, I'm treating you to lunch. Shoko can handle things on her own for a little while. ❞

It was still early and honestly a beautiful day. Megumi decided to spend the morning training in some way before the sun would turn the day into a scorching hot inferno of summer. Unless there was a mission, he had no reason to seek to physically strain himself during midday so the morning it was.

When he arrived at the gym it wasn't empty. Megumi looked around to see if they needed the entire room. It didn't look like it.

"Mind if I join you?"

It doesn't occur to him how sorely the atmosphere's been missed until fully seated. Sure, space is more of a concept than actuality at this yatai, but that's a part of the experience. Which surprises him that much more. Not only did he remember to drag his overtaxed body outside to eat, but he actually looked forward to ordering a steaming bowl of nabeyaki udon in the midst of random company. Plus, with the weather slowly warming to spring, he's not left shivering under the thin suit jacket like a month prior.

Mouth parted with his usual order at the tip of his tongue, Hiromi pauses at the last second. Spots a familiar figure and finds himself almost beaming. Two orders are placed — one for him and another for Issho. Though, now that he thinks about it ... maybe that wasn't the right call. What if another meal was wanted instead?

"Evening," he calls out in greeting, "I hope you don't mind— I just ordered your usual. Probably should've waited, but I'm sure they won't mind the change if you wanted something different."

" what's the point?"

he repeated. Not many people did understand him and what he wanted to do with his own money. He was getting tired of the question, but he kept that to himself. The woman in front of him was known to spend money like it was nothing. He's seen it for a while now.

But at last there was no way for him to be able to. there was so much he wanted to do when it came to his own money. Saving it was the decision he kept making. letting out a small sigh from his lips he looked at the woman.

"I'm saving for something important. Besides, there isn't anything I want right now. So, saving and keeping track of what I have is all I can do right now."

"Luffy wasn't kidding." Dropping his fork down and leaning back he patted his stomach for a moment, feeling the comfortable sense of a food coma coming over him as he tipped his chin towards Sanji. "You're a damn good cook."

Rising he easily knocked his brothers hand out of the way, redirecting the stretched-out limb towards unclaimed food rather than his first mates, before gathering up dirty dishes. Utterly unfazed by his brother's attempts to steal food as he noted to the swordsman. "Feel free to stab him, he'll learn not to steal your food that way.....maybe."

Cocking a grin he finished gathering dirty dishes before heading over to the sink and tutting at the sight of Sanji cleaning. Easily sliding into the space beside the blond he used his hip to push him out of the way, taking over the sink area and carefully putting the dishes into the boiling hot water. The temperature not even noted due to his resistance to heat thanks to his devil fruit. "The cook shouldn't clean up you know. Though I totally understand now allowing Luffy near breakable things."
