@voidhunting and their avalanche of asks.
‘ you look beautiful tonight. ‘
those were words she didn’t hear often enough. words that described her usually included the likes of ‘hot’, ‘smoking’, ‘fuckable’. she’d grown used to the more explicit opinions that got straight to the point of objectifying her, hearing about the many things people would love to do to her if given the chance, but genuine compliments came too far and few between.
the corners of her lips perked up ever so slightly.
‘ you have a nice smile-- you should do it more often. ‘
there came another one. it was enough to tip her cheeks over into a redder hue, and cast her sight adrift. she felt a heat rising as her eyes wandered off to the side, hoping to latch onto anything that could serve as a distraction. alas, nothing, but it’d be another few moments before they’d return to kai’sa.
‘ you’re amazing-- you know that? ‘
a low tone rose from the deepest pit of her stomach. less a growl, more a whine. she hoped the compliments would come to an end before she risked doing something that could ruin their friendship. they’d been known to share a few more intimate moments in the past, but as most of akali’s relationships go, nothing official would ever come of it.
though, as mild embers began to stir up in her heart, and the butterflies trapped in her stomach flew around in a desperate plea for their freedom, her eyes wandered up once more as they made a brief pass over her partner’s features.
at first, they became fixed on the other’s eyes. the lavender halo around each of her irises further supported the idea that kai’sa was some kind of angel, too good for this world.
as her gaze drifted downwards, she couldn’t help but notice the softness of her skin. her nose, strong yet smooth, like finely crafted marble. her lips. oh god, her lips.
they weren’t the best lips by anyone’s standards. in fact, they were quite average if you were to take an objective stance on them. they were an average size, shape, they didn’t look particular plump, but definitely soft - and when all was said and done, kai’sa knew exactly how to make them look gorgeous. she always wore the right shade of purple, she always put just enough gloss over the top to make them glisten, but not enough to burn at a glance. forget being an angel, this girl was a goddess.
caught up in the moment, she couldn’t recall whether or not kai’sa had uttered any further words. she had become far too mesmerised, lost in her thoughts, her wonders about whether she’d get the chance to kiss her again. sure, they’d done it several times before, but it was never established whether or not they were a ‘thing’, and that’s actually how akali preferred it to be. but...
‘ you can kiss me if you’d like. you don’t have to ask. ‘
her cheeks now sported a deeper hue. was it really that obvious?
she hoped she hadn’t looked too awkward for all those moments, but regardless of whether she had or not, she didn’t hesitate to make the move.
